GIV Bahamas Takes off at Aviation Show

At an aviation show with more than 200,000 visitors, hundreds of exhibitors and acre after acre of activities and att2016-04-05 12.52.53ractions, it can be difficult to stand out.

Fortunately, as the only resort with its own booth, GIV Bahamas Inc. and Grand Isle Resort & Spa stole the show.

The Sun n’ Fun International Fly In and Expo, the largest convention in Florida and the second largest aviation show in the world, served as the perfect venue for presenting the unrivaled beauty of Exuma’s 365 islands, an area of the world that speaks to individuals that operate their own planes.

“There is something about the spirit of a private aviator that meshes well with the adventure of Exuma,” said Peter Nicholson, the President of GIV Bahamas Inc. “In addition to having disposable income, private aviators love to explore, and we have more places to explore in the Exumas than anywhere else.

These travelers don’t need too many amenities or bells and whistles. The beauty and expansiveness of Exuma is enough.”

Tyrone Munroe, Partner and Director of Operations for GIV Bahamas Inc., and Jeff Todd, Director of Communications, participated in educational seminars for pilots looking to fly to the Bahamas for the first time.
Todd was also invited as a speaker on a special Bahamas Night Banquet.

Terry Spurlock, a Senior Flying Ambassador for the Bahamas, said the turnout for the seminars and the general interest from aviators was “three times larger than last year”.

“Over the years we have conducted hundreds of fly-ins to the Bahamas and a lot of the business we receive from Sun N Fun benefits the Family Islands,” she added. “This year we saw an increase in interest in the Bahamas, particularly from newbies who are pilots wanting to fly to the Bahamas but have never done so before.”  SunNFun2

Munroe and Todd also felt the rush of private aviators seeking information on how to travel to The Exumas.

GIV Bahamas Inc. is offering a special deal this summer for private aviators staying at Grand Isle, which includes up to a 50% discount on the villa of choice, a $100 resort credit, a discount on fuel at the private terminal Odyssey and a welcome gift upon arrival. Aviators can access the deal by inputting the promo code GISUNFUN on the resort website

In addition to the established luSunNFun5 (1)xury of Grand Isle Resort on the main island of Great Exuma, GIV Bahamas Inc. unveiled, for the first time, plans for Farmer’s Cay, located in the centre of the island chain.

With videos on display, aviators marveled at the stunning beauty of the Exuma cays and the ability to pull their planes right up to the steps of Ty’s Sunset Bar & Grill, a restaurant located near the end of a 2,500-foot runway, right on the beach.2016-04-06 19.37.11

Following the show, Nicholson, Munroe and Todd led a delegation of 20 aviators to Exuma to survey both properties and review investment opportunities.
