Exuma’s swimming pigs go Hollywood
Pack your bags: Exuma’s swimming pigs are flying to the City of Angels.
Figuratively, of course. Those swimming pigs are pretty comfortable where they are. But “When Pigs Swim”, the wildly successful documentary on the famous swine, has become an official selection of the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in Los Angeles – it’s second film festival selection in recent months.
‘When Pigs Swim’ was produced by GIV Bahamas Inc. and premiered at the Bahamas International Film Festival last December.
Charlie Smith, the director of When Pigs Swim, will fly to LA to walk the red carpet, do Q&As and view the screenings next month.
“This is a big moment for the film,” he said.
“Exuma’s swimming pigs have been a global phenomenon for a long time now as an Internet sensation. Now we are officially taking them on the road through the film festival circuit. It is a great opportunity for Exuma and the Bahamas.”
Indeed, Smith, and the producers of ‘When Pigs Swim’, are now working directly with the Bahamian Ministry of Tourism to make a splash at PAFF.
Live in LA? Or plan on being there in February? Exuma’s swimming pigs will take center stage on February 6 @ 12:50pm, February 10 at 4:20pm and February 12 @3:40pm. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A with Smith.
